Ukrainian political prisoner, Oleh Sentsov, wrote a letter to Nikolay Shchur, a human rights defender in Russia, according to Shchur’s post on Facebook.

Sentsov said that he is feeling much better than a month ago. His test results are better than they used to be. He is being monitored by doctors and taking medications.

“The drips (medication via intravenous therapy) were also stopped at the end of last week, finally. Now, basically, diet, monitoring and pills. So, do not worry there that much: I survived,” Sentsov said.

On May 14, Sentsov started an indefinite hunger strike. He demanded the release of all Ukrainian political prisoners jailed in Russia and in annexed Crimea.

Sentsov ended his strike on Oct. 6 due to threats of forced feeding.
