Ship With Ukrainians Aboard Disappears in Atlantic
Media reports indicate that are about 10 people aboard the ship
A ship with Ukrainians aboard disappeared in the Atlantic Ocean during a storm.
While the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry hasn’t said how many Ukrainians are aboard, according to media reports, there are approximately 10 people.
The ship, Bourbon Rhode, disappeared on Thursday (Sep. 26), Deputy Director of the Department of Consular Services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Vasily Kirilich said.
The ship disappeared at a distance of about 1,200 nautical miles from Martinique, an insular region of France located in the Lesser Antilles of the West Indies in the eastern Caribbean Sea.
The French Maritime Rescue and Coordination Center CENTR Fort De France (MRCC) is now leading a search for the missing ship.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian consul in France is staying in contact with the company that owns the ship.
