Ready to defend allies: NATO reacted to Russia’s plans to strengthen military near the Ukrainian border
The North Atlantic Alliance reacted to Russia’s plans to strengthen its military power near the borders with Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltic countries and Finland, UATV reports.
The Kremlin is going to form 20 military units in the Western Military District of Russia. According to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, there is a threat that the Russian Federation will use military force against its neighbors.
“It is a model of behavior of the Russian Federation, within the framework of which Russia has been heavily investing in new military capabilities in recent years. But not only that. Russia has turned out to be ready to use military force against its neighbors. This is one of the reasons why NATO increased the readiness of our forces in recent years. We demonstrate our willingness to protect our allies, also conducting joint exercises ” – said Stoltenberg.
