Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance Jens Stoltenberg suggested to hold a meeting of the NATO-Russia Council. He said this in an interview with the “Die Welt” newspaper, UATV informs.

“I would like to invite Russia to take part in the meeting of the Russia-NATO Council as soon as possible. We have many topics to discuss that meet the common interests of NATO and Russia”, – Stoltenberg said.

The NATO Secretary General says that the parties need to exchange information on military maneuvers. He added that relations between Russia and the North Atlantic Alliance have reached their lowest point since the end of the Cold War, and dialogue is the best way to reduce tensions.

NATO suggested holding a similar meeting more than a year ago, but there was no response.
