The “British” strain of coronavirus has been found in 118 countries – WHO
The new strain of coronavirus, which was first fixed in the UK, has already been detected in 118 countries.
This is stated in the weekly epidemiological bulletin of the World Health Organization, Ukrinform reports.
According to the organization, the “British” strain of coronavirus was found last week in 8 more countries, and the “South African” – in 6. In total – 64 countries.
The coronavirus varieties, previously found in Brazil and Japan, has been detected in 6 more countries and is now in 38 countries.
According to WHO estimates, 3,083,213 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in the world during the week from March 8 to March 14, which is 10% more than in the previous week.
Earlier, the WHO predicted when the COVID-19 pandemic would end.
The WHO is recording a decrease in the incidence of influenza in the world.
