Ukrainian tennis player Sergei Stakhovsky overtook his compatriot, Ilya Marchenko, at the Challenger Tour Tennis Association Professional Tournament (ATP) tournament in Recanati, Italy.
The standoff on the court lasted 2 hours and 40 minutes. However, with the score of 7: 6 (7: 4), 3: 6, 7: 5 Sergei Stakhovsky won the day, BTU reported.
In the quarterfinals, Stakhovsky will battle Croatian Viktor Galovich, who defeated Russian Pavel Kotov.
The prize fund of the competition is €46,600 (about $52,600).
