More than 2.5 million Ukrainians have already taken advantage of the visa-free regime with the EU. This amounts to over 33 million separate border crossings to the EU and the Schengen Zone, which includes non-EU members Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland.
“2,575,390 Ukrainians have already experienced firsthand all the advantages of the visa-free regime with the European Union! The number of our compatriots, who can visit the countries of the European Union and the world without visa documents, increases every day. And the number of such countries already exceeds a hundred. The world becomes more open every day!” President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko posted on Facebook.
The agreement between Ukraine and the EU on visa-free travel was signed in attendance of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and European Parliament President Antonio Tajani in Strasbourg on May 17, 2017. The deal came into effect on June 11, 2017.
