Ukraine Bonds Mature, Government Pays Investors in Full
By paying the full balance of the bond issue, Ukraine is able to show financial stability to investors, both domestic and international

On May 16, 2019, Ukraine paid investors for bonds that were issued in 2014 with an interest rate of 1.844%. This initial issue was guaranteed by the United States and amounted to more than $1 billion. The press service of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine reported about the debt maturing and then being retired.
Ukraine had two other bond issues, one in 2015 and another in 2015, both also backed by the United States. These two issues will mature in May 2020 and September 2021 and have a similar interest rate as the 2014 issue.
As reported earlier, the International Monetary Fund confirmed the date of its upcoming visit to Ukraine. Representatives of the IMF will start their work on May 21. The mission will stay in Ukraine for two weeks.
