Ukraine Cuts Gas Imports
Ukraine reduced its gas imports by 22.9 compared to last year
Tapping into its significant gas reserves, since the beginning of this year, Ukraine’s reduced its gas imports from European Union countries by 22.9 percent compared to the same period last year.
“Since the beginning of 2018, gas imports from Europe have decreased by 22.9 percent compared to the same period in 2017 due to significant gas reserves in the underground storage facilities,” a press report by JSC Ukrtransgaz said.
From January to November, Ukraine imported 10.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas from EU countries, about 3 billion cubic meters less than last year.
The largest gas volumes were imported via Slovakia, 6.2 billion cubic meters, Hungary, 3.2 billion cubic meters, and Poland, 0.7 billion cubic meters.
