Ukraine to Forward PACE Appeal Against Ongoing Raids in Crimea

Ukraine is preparing an appeal to the Council of Europe and member-states of the organization regarding the police raids conducted today in the houses of Crimean Tatars, chairman of Ukraine’s PACE delegation, MP Volodymyr Ariev wrote on Facebook.
“A new wave of repressions against Crimean Tatars. Act of violence in order to intimidate activists. We are preparing the correspondent appeal to the Council of Europe and member-states of the organization,” he wrote.
As reported earlier, the Federal Security Service of Russia, the FSB, conducted several early morning raids on the homes of Crimean Tatars in illegally occupied Crimea. Raids were carried out at the homes of Rolan Osmanov, Diliaver Bekirov, and son of Diliaver – Ruslan Bekirov. Ruslan Bekirov was detained and forced to take a drug test before being released with orders not to leave Simferopol until the results are confirmed.
