Ukraine’s defense sector spending has grown from less than one percent to up to 5.37 percent of GDP since Russia bag its undeclared war on Ukraine.
The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Oleksandr Turchynov gave the figure at the Kyiv Security Forum.
Starting in 2014, despite a financial crisis and Russian aggression, the Armed Forces financing and all power structures increased fourfold, he said.
“This level of financing is the highest compared to all of the EU countries in relation to the state’s GDP,” Turchynov said.
