Ukraine Marks Armed Forces Day
December 6 was established to be a national holiday pursuant to the Verkhovna Rada’s resolution No. 3528-XII of October 19, 1993
“I would like to express my gratitude to every soldier who faithfully serves Ukraine and helps us to resist to the Russian aggression. All you are the pride of our nation, of all our people, “Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko wrote.
“A new stage of development for the Armed Forces of Ukraine began after the Revolution of Dignity and the start of the military operations in the east. Despite the total ruin in the army, corruption and losses, the Ukrainian military managed to defend the independence of the Motherland, protect people and restore the defensive capability of the Armed Forces,” Ukrinform wrote.
At a military awards ceremony on the occasion of the Armed Forces Day, Poroshenko said the Ukrainian army enjoys the highest level of public trust among all state institutions.
