“These photos depict the modernization of the strategic railway line: Volnovakha-Kamysh-Zarya. It will be run in both directions. There, in the Donetsk region, the greatest construction of new rail in all of the years of independent Ukraine continues,” Ukrzaliznytsia Board Chairman Yevhen Kravtsov said, 0629.com.ua reported.

In order to build a kilometer of rail, about  $368,400 is needed. Ukrzaliznytsia has already built 26.9 km of tracks, and another seven are planned.

“The work went on for several years. The Mariupol direction for the railway is one of the most intense. Our task is to smoothly run passenger, commuter, and freight trains. We are coping with this,” Kravtsov said.

The new rail lines will allow Ukrzaliznytsia to launch another passenger train to Mariupol this year.
