Ukraine to Open River Tour in Chernobyl Zone

The State Agency of Ukraine for the Management of the Exclusion Zone plans to open tourist routes along the Pripyat and Uzh rivers in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
According to the agency’s management, the development of new tour forms to the Exclusion Zone was initiated by tourist operators due to a near ten-fold increase of the number of visitors, the agency’s press-service reported.
“Specialists of the Chornobyl Nature Reserve, State Special Company ‘Ecocenter’ and State Company ‘TSOTIZ’ were involved in the development of the routes. In particular, the routes include the river Pripyat and Uzh,” press-release reported.
All routes are checked by dosimetrists and are safe for visitors.
