Ukraine Organizes Parade of 40 Nations in Kyiv
Cultures, arts, and crafts are some of the things that strengthen diplomatic relations between countries. To enhance its cultural diplomacy, Ukraine organized the international Parade of Nations. It's an event where elements of different cultural heritages are showcased
Over 40 countries presented famous elements of their cultures at the Parade of Nations in Kyiv.
The parade featured song and dance as well as theatrical performances.
It was the third parade of nations. Representatives from about 20 countries took part in the first, the second gathered featured about 30. Slovenia and Slovakia joined the parade for the first time this year.
Not only is it meant to popularize different countries’ cultures, but it’s also intended as a way to enhance interstate dialogue.
Each country presents itself in alphabetical order — by bringing out their national flag. Ukraine both opens and concludes the parade.
“This event is very important because it brings together many nationals of countries, that are here in Ukraine. This is the event to share knowledge, to improve friendship, and also to show that we are here to support Ukraine. This is the most important message,” Italian diplomat, defense attache Riccardo Cristoni said.
The Parade of Nations is an international cultural and charity evening. Another of its goals is to help children with special needs.
