Ukrainian Passport Gains Value
Citizens of Ukraine could visit 118 countries visa-free or with a visa upon the arrival
The value of the Ukrainian passport has risen.
Compared to 2018, according to the Henley & Partners Passport Index, the Ukrainian passport jumped up a spot from 41st place to 40th. Now Ukrainians can visit 118 countries visa-free or with a visa upon arrival.
Over the past decade, the value of the Ukrainian passport rose 22 positions. It had been in the 62nd spot in 2009.
The strongest passports – in terms of travel without the requirement of a visa – were headed by Japan, Singapore, and South Korea – all of which can visit 189 countries visa-free. Germany took second. German citizens can visit 188 countries visa-free. It recently lost visa-free access to Uzbekistan.
Afghanistan and Iraq are at the bottom of the list. Their citizens can only visit 30 countries without a visa.
