The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry should ensure 100% online consular services and an opportunity for Ukrainian citizens abroad to contact the consul within 24 hours within the next five years.
Such a task has been set for the Foreign Ministry in the new government action program, the text of which has been published on the parliament’s website, reports Ukrinform.
“There are at least 6 million Ukrainian citizens living outside the country and they should feel safe. The network of Ukrainian consular institutions currently covers 94 countries, consuls work in 116 cities. By the end of 2020, we plan to open two new Consulates General and one embassy,” reads the document.
The government plans to have a consular representative of Ukraine, staff or honorary, in every region of the world. The network of honorary consuls, which currently numbers 112, is planned to be expanded.
