Ukrainian women took fourth place at the World Chess Championship in Astana, Kazakhstan.

The Ukrainian team scored 12 points out of a possible 18, Ukrinform reported.

China took first place followed by Russia and Georgia.

Maria Muzychuk, Anna Muzychuk, Anna Ushenina, Inna Gaponenko and Natalya Buksa, with team captain – Mikhail Brodsky played for Ukraine.

The final standings were: China – 18 points (26.5), Russia – 14 (26), Georgia – 12 (23), Ukraine – 12 (20.5), Kazakhstan – 10 (18), India – 9 (20) United States – 7 (15), Armenia – 4 (15), Hungary – 4 (11.5), Egypt – 0 (4).
