Ukraine will not abandon the Minsk Agreements – Danilov
Ukraine does not seek to cancel the Minsk agreements, but proposes to work on them. This was stated by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov on the air of the 1 + 1 TV channel, UA reports.
Danilov stressed that the Ukrainian side stands for peace and is ready to negotiate a settlement of the conflict in Donbas, however, in the form in which the Minsk agreements are spelled out, it is impossible to fulfill them. It is, in particular, about the procedure for holding elections and demilitarization.
“If we talk about the Minsk agreements, they are absurd in the form in which they are. Tell me, please, how can elections be held in a concentration camp? Today, part of the occupied territories is under the influence of the Russian Federation. The leadership that exists in the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, is appointed there, comes from there. There are officers of the Russian Federation, generals of the Russian Federation, weapons of the Russian Federation – everyone knows this”, – the NSDC secretary summed up.
