More Ukrainian Agricultural Products in Europe
In the first 11 months of last year, the agricultural and food commodity turnover between Ukraine and the EU increased by 11 percent
Ukrainian agricultural products are not only increasingly entering the European market, but the range of products is also increasing.
“Our manufacturers are gradually reaching for the European market and are coming out with more and more new products,” Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on European integration, Olga Trofimtsova said.
The Deputy Minister said that Ukrainian mushrooms, butter, cream, are being made available to European consumers. Honey and juice may also start to make a larger footprint on the European market.
Now on the agenda are trade expansion and further product diversification, Trofimtsova said.
In general, Trofimtseva sees “good prospects” in terms of cooperation with the European Union.
In the first 11 months of last year, the agricultural and food commodity turnover between Ukraine and the EU increased by 11 percent or $ 778.6 million compared with the corresponding period in 2017 and reached a total of $ 8.01 billion.
Ukrainian agricultural exports to the EU increased by $ 362.3 million and reached a total of $ 5.6 billion.
“Bilateral trade in the agricultural sector is growing. The free trade zone works for both parties. We are pleased…” Trofimtseva said.
