Ukrainian Army Receives 100 New Defensive Rockets
The MLRS can destroy infantry, armored, and soft-skinned targets in concentration areas of artillery batteries, command posts, and ammunition depots
The first batch of the Ukrainian-made Vilkha-M multiple launch rocket system has entered service with the Ukrainian army.
“Vilkha M is a new multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) developed by the State Kyiv Design Bureau “Luch” in collaboration with other public and private Ukrainian defense companies. The MLRS can destroy infantry, armored, and soft-skinned targets in concentration areas of artillery batteries, command posts, and ammunition depots. It is ten times more accurate than the aging MLRS platforms in service with the Ukrainian Army,” army-technology.com writes.
Earlier, the Vilkha-M multiple launch rocket system with the extended hit-range successfully passed tests in the south of Odesa region.
“This year, the first serial Vilkha rockets began entering service with the Ukrainian Army, with further deliveries expected in January, 2020,” ArmyInform reported.
Moreover, 152 mm shells have been purchased for heavy artillery and state-owned defense manufacturer Ukroboronprom will soon set up mass production of the upgraded Verba multiple launch rocket system, which passed all required tests and was put into service.
