Ukrainian Boxer Who Won WBC Back Home
At the Odesa Airport, fans greeted boxer Vasyl Lomachenko, who returned home from London with a new prize belt. The Ukrainian won the WBC boxing title and also retained the WBA and WBO belts
Briton Luke Campbell was comprehensively outpointed by Ukrainian boxer Vasyl Lomachenko, who now holds three lightweight titles. After the boxing match, the Ukrainian’s opponent was hospitalized. In order to become an absolute world champion, Lomachenko has only one title left to win, and he promised that he would fight for it.
“In general, the fight went according to plan. We did everything we had to do. We won the belt with virtually no health damage,” lightweight boxing champion (WBC, WBO, WBA) Vasyl Lomachenko said.
Despite the fact that Lomachenko arrived at 2:00 a.m., dozens of fans came to meet him at the Odesa airport. Many of them came specially from other cities of Ukraine.
“He is one of the best athletes in Ukraine at the moment. Klitschko is slowly fading into the background, but Lomachenko is young and promising. He will only become stronger.”
Lomachenko is already the most titled boxer in Ukrainian history and in his next fight he has a chance to become an absolute lightweight champion.
