Ukrainian Cyclist Wins Gold Medal at the Grand Prix in Austria

She outpaced her nearest competitor by two minutes

Yana Belomoina earned a gold medal for Ukraine at the Dachstein-Salzkammergut Mountainbike Grand Prix, held in Obertaun, Austria.

Belomoina won the 25 kilometer race under the Women Elite category. She outpaced her nearest competitor by two minutes, the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine (NOC) reported.

Barbara Benko from Hungary, the silver medalist at the 2014 World Cup and participant of the 2012 Olympic Games, came in second place.

The bronze medal was won by Daniela Campuzano, a participant of the 2016 Olympic Games from Mexico.

According to the NOC, this competition is considered one of the most spectacular among all mountain biking in Austria, due to the complexity of the route.
