Ukrainian Novikov Wins Greco-Roman Wrestling World Championship

This is the second championship title for Semen Novikov since last year he won the World Cup gold

Greco-Roman wrestler Semen Novikov, from the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, won the World Championship in Budapest, the Federation of Greco-Roman wrestling of Ukraine reported.

Novikov won the gold medal in the weight category up to 87kg, defeating Gurami Hetzuriani of Georgia in the final with a score of 6:1.

This is the second champion title for Novikov since winning the World Cup gold last year.

On November 3, 2019, Ukrainians Jora Abovyan (60kg), Maxym Yevtushenko (72kg), Vladlen Kozlyuk (97kg) and Artur Politayev (67kg) will compete for the bronze awards.
