A platoon of Ukrainian marines arrived in Romania, where it’s taking part in the Platinum Eagle-2019 multinational exercises.
The exercises, the second of their kind, are carried out as part of training activities for “rotational forces of the Black Sea region,” the Ukrainian Defense Ministry stated.
The exercises will be held at the Badabug training ground and will last from Sep. 10 to 20. Approximately 300 military personnel from six countries – Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, the United States, and Ukraine – are participating.
The exercises include daytime live firing with small arms, as well as the development of maneuvering and counterattack elements as part of a multinational battalion tactical group.
The Ministry of Defense said that the first phase of international maneuvers, which was also in Romania, was held in late February – early March.
