The Ukrainian World Congress has called upon the international community to increase economic and political sanctions against the Russian Federation for the illegal occupation and militarization of Ukraine’s Crimean peninsula, as reported by Ukrinform.
Governmental and non-governmental organizations must establish monitoring missions to gather information about the ongoing human rights violations and war crimes being committed by the Russian military and their proxies on Ukraine’s occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas.
This evidence will be important in future war crimes trials against Vladimir Putin and his lieutenants who are responsible for the murder of over 10,000 people in Ukraine, the bombing of flight MH17, political assassinations of their political opponents in Russia, Ukraine and around the world, chemical weapons attacks in Syria, among many other crimes.
“We call upon all governments, non-governmental organizations and businesses such as Google to maintain their support for Ukraine and those people on Ukraine’s occupied territories by abiding by U.S., Canadian, European and United Nations policy of non-recognition of Russia’s military annexation of Ukraine’s Crimean peninsula,” UWC President Paul Grod said.
