Volker: Ukraine Must Ensure Access to Medicine and Pensions Citizens in Occupied Donbas
Ukraine is showing its readiness to take steps to implement the Minsk agreements, unlike Russia, Volker said
Ukrainian officials should ensure access to medicine and the payment of pensions to residents of an uncontrolled part of Donbas, United States Special Representative to Ukraine Kurt Volker said.
“If we are talking about a number of humanitarian issues, this is the payment of pensions and access to medical services. Then these obligations of Ukraine are extremely important for the peace process. After all, these steps will help restore the confidence of these people in the Ukrainian authorities,” Volker said during the 16th Yalta European Strategy conference in Kyiv, Novosti Donbasa reported.
Ukraine is showing its readiness to take steps to implement the Minsk agreements, unlike Russia, Volker said.
The United Nations and a number of human rights organizations have repeatedly called on the Ukrainian authorities to restore the payment of pensions to residents of the occupied territory.
