Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with businessman and former head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Ihor Kolomoisky, the Office of the President stated on Facebook.
“At the Office of the President, they discussed the issue of doing business in Ukraine. They also talked about the energy sector,” the statement said.
The Office of the President recalled that in June, during the forum entitled “Dialogue between State Authorities and Business,” Zelensky called on entrepreneurs to invest in the reconstruction of infrastructure in Donbas. He also asked big business representatives to help the state solve social problems.
The 41-year-old comedian-turned-president’s comedy shows have aired on Kolomoisky’s television channel for nearly a decade and Kolomoisky helped support Zelensky’s presidential bid.
Kolomoiskyi, who is the second or third richest Ukrainian, had been at odds with former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. Kolomoiskyi has been criticized for allegedly taking control of businesses in Ukraine by gunpoint.
