Zelensky Votes, Then Breaches the Law on the Secrecy of Voting
Presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelensky showed his ballot to reporters, others at the polling station
Coming out of the polling booth, presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelensky showed a filled-in ballot in front of camera crews with his mark in front of his name, Ukrayinska Pravda reported.
While the journalists were photographing or filming the candidate’s ballot, Zelensky was told about committing a violation. Only then did he hide the ballot and then saying: “I have not shown, you have not seen.”
In accordance with Article 7 of the law “On the election of the President of Ukraine,” voting in the presidential elections is secret.
According to the law, photographing, video recording of the results of the expression of the will of the voters in the booth for a secret ballot, as well as the voter’s demonstration of the results of the expression of will in the polling station, are prohibited and violate the secrecy of voting.
