President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi accepted the invitation from his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron to make a visit to Paris in the near future. It was stated after the meeting of the Head of State with Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Jean-Yves Le Drian.
The President of Ukraine thanked France for the consistent support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.
Zelenskyi also noted that the solidarity of France with Ukraine as a partner in the Normandy format and in various international groups and organizations was essential for maintaining security and defending the norms and principles of international law on the continent.
In addition, the parties paid considerable attention to the further enhancement of bilateral political dialogue and strengthening of cooperation between Ukraine and France, in particular in trade and the economic sphere.
Zelenskyi noted many interesting joint projects that are being implemented in Ukraine, in particular, those aimed at socio-economic recovery of the eastern regions of the country, for example, the renovation of the water supply system in Mariupol.
