Zelenskyi’s Representative to Visit Flooded Regions
Thousands of homes were damaged in flooding
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s assistant, Andrii Yermak, will visit flooded areas of Western Ukraine on Monday to examine damages caused by heavy rains which hit the areas from May 20 to 23.
On Friday, Zelenskyi signed a decree on urgent measures for the Zakarpattia and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
The measures are aimed at coordinating central and local authorities interactions, financing repair and rescue measures, and providing locals with drinking water, medical aid, and information.
In the Ivano-Frankivsk oblast, over 1,721 residential houses and 6,137 households in 78 settlements were in the flooding zone.
In the Zakarpattia oblast, 114 residential houses and 610 households were in the flood zone.
Water levels are gradually declining.
